Mindful Eating for a Loving Body

Often our relationship with our body is reflected most in our relationship with food. Trauma that’s held in the body can be seen in the stress of trying to keep weight on or off, feelings of anxiety when eating, and addiction to certain foods. The very intimate and sacred nature of food has been inundated by marketing that both hypes unhealthy diets and degrades people across the gender spectrum for eating them.

Eating food is one of the most inherently relaxing, pleasurable activities we can experience in life. Unfortunately, media and cultural doctrines have layered it with shame and guilt, triggering the fight or flight reflex so even thinking about food can induce stress.

This workshop offers a gentle reminder of your birthright to enjoy food. When you can truly relax and enjoy the act of eating, everything inside slows down and opens to your aliveness. When this happens, a natural balance emerges, and the body loses or gains weight and makes other changes as it orients toward optimal health. Mindful eating is how I lost 50 lbs without effort, and helped others gain or lose weight according to their needs.

While mindful eating is the practice of this workshop, healing your relationship with your body is the goal. With this in mind this class will teach:

  • The conscious nature of the body and how it reacts to judgment vs love
  • How to know you’re good looking and enjoy seeing yourself in the mirror
  • An overview on engaging physical pain and discomfort with peace
  • A deeper exploration of the senses and how they are the spiritual avenue through which our soul connects to the world

This class includes a guided meditation with a small amount of food provided. Please email Jewel@BodyInsights.com any allergies or dietary needs you have. All genders welcome.
